Congratulations to the Midwest United FC Kalamazoo 07 Girls Royal team, as they capped off a great spring season competing and developing in the highest division available in the state for this age group, Directors Academy Tier 1.
The team finished their league play this spring with a winning record, capped off with two tournament championships: KISS and BGSU. The girls also finished with a commendable 2-1-1 record in Jr. State Cup action this spring.
“This team is a jewel for our club, with outstanding young ladies that continue to get better and better”, coach Chris Yapp stated. “The fall was an adjustment period for them, coming together as a new team and acclimating to the pace of play expected from them. By the spring, they were right on track”.
The girls committed themselves to a robust program, with futsal, winter agility, and technical training to strengthen their foundations and take their skill sets to the next level.
“It’s remarkable the amount of dedication these girls put into the game and how much it matters to them,” Yapp said. “They have an inner passion to become very, very good players. The sky is the limit for this group.”
