A big congratulations to the 2004 royal girls for advancing out of their group and winning their round of 16 game on Saturday against Nationals Tri-County to advance to the state cup quarterfinals. The team battled through 2 OT periods and eventually came out on top after an exciting round of PK's. On Sunday the girls faced off with Nationals Union for a shot at the semis. These young ladies put up a valiant effort but in the end came up just short in a tough 1-2 match.
"These kids have worked incredibly hard to get to this point - National League, State Cup quarters. Parents are so supportive, and the kids have been absolute warriors on the field. Now, to get better."
This team has been on a very impressive journey, moving from the Directors Academy and eventually finishing first in the Michigan State Premier League's top division (P1). They now have been promoted up to the National League, Midwest Region, and hold a winning record through 4 league games.
Way to go, girls!
